These amazing Keto, Low Carb, Paleo & Whole30 approved cabbage rolls taste fantastic even after a few days. If you want to make this recipe, you will need a substantial amount of rice in your cabbage rolls, and if you prefer a healthier option, we would advise you to use sautéed cauliflower rice.
How to prep the stuffing for the Amazing Keto Cabbage Rolls?
- Use 10 large and softened cabbage leaves
- ½ onion (chopped)
- 1 pound of ground beef
- 1 pound of ground pork
- 1 tablespoon of parsley
- 1 tablespoon of granulated onion
- Fresh pepper and Himalayan pink salt
How to prep the sauce?
- 128 ounces of peeled tomatoes with basil
- ½ onion (chopped)
- A small amount of pork/beef ground meat
- Fresh pepper and Himalayan pink salt
- Some Italian seasoning
Make sure you preheat your oven to 400F. Start by cutting the core of the cabbage and place the cabbage in a big cooking pot. Top it with water and cook until it starts boiling and until the leaves become soft. This should take about 10 minutes. By boiling the cabbage, you will be able to remove and roll the cabbage leaves much easier. You can use 10 leaves and before making the keto rolls make sure you leave them on the side to dry and cool down.
You need to mix your stuffing ingredients in a big bowl, use a large baking pan to line up 3 cabbage leaves. Use a ¼ of the cup of the mixture to put on the cabbage and then just roll and tuck in the sides. Do this with the rest of the cabbage leaves and mixture and set them aside.
In order to prepare the sauce, you need to sauté the onions until they become soft, then add in the ground meat and cook the onions until they turn brown. Add in the tomato and the rest of the seasoning and leave it to simmer on the stove for 45 minutes, so all the flavours can blend together. Once you have the sauce ready, make sure you pour it over the keto cabbage rolls and then bake them in your oven for around 40 minutes.
